| I have many things I need to be doing right now, but instead I am on xanga and facebook! Always procrastinating...some things will never change.
Tomorrow is the start of "jisshuu," or us teaching UG 2nd years experiments. So today, we set out all the materials at each lab bench, checked to see that all the water baths worked. One of the water baths .... caught on FIRE!!! The rubber protector on the heat coil is ripped, but it is still being used. Because Hiroshima University is poor. I hope none of us get electrocuted....
shin splints are a terrible thing.
......
already ran out of things to say. how boring.
i think i will study some, and go to sleep right after i finish being dr. doolittle's alarm clock. goodnight!

| I tripped over the power cord, and my laptop fell to the floor. Now it's warped in yet another spot. I need to take better care of it. poor thing.
I really don't feel like writing anything. So I guess I will just share my two favorite websites at the moment:
http://www.coolrunning.com the running website that i lurk, everyday.
http://shapeofamother.blogspot.com a website with submissions by mothers (usu. with pictures) to show people what real women look like (who have had kids..)
OK! don't get scared. i am not in any i-want-babies-NOW phase or anything. that was just a page i stumbled upon, and it's just been really eye-opening ... to realize our bodies are capable of so much, and it's really not worth fretting over what we look like.
ok, that's it. lots going on, but don't feel like writing, AT ALL.
tchau!!

| i just got woken up at 4:30 from a dream... There was drunken screaming outside in the street, and for awhile, I was telling myself "ah, it's Berkeley, this is normal...." but then I woke up a little more and realized, wait, i'm not in Berkeley anymore, this is Japan!!!!
and I was wondering... who do you call in Japan? I don't really know all the emergency phone numbers....
but I went outside on the balcony, and there were already officers out there. There was super drunk guy. He kept refusing to go with them in their car. He must've been hanging around and hassling people at this 24 hour udon/donburi restaurant that's across the street. At one point, he started running into the middle of the huge street! it took about four guys to finally get him into the car, but he kept fighting...
aii. ok. back to sleep until the sun comes out a little before i start running...

| The metal part on the upper left corner of my laptop is warped. Right by the speaker, it's sticking out... it must have happened when i accidentally dropped my bag after getting off my bike... :(
I had my first okonomiyaki today since coming back to Japan... and i'll be having MORE this week, thanks to Mayuko, who decided to make this week "okonomiyaki week." Anno-san suggested we go to Sanpachi for okonomiyaki, and got her (and me) super excited, but then we found out they are closed on Mondays. So to make up for that, we went to "Nana" today, we'll go to Sanpachi tomorrow, then on Friday, another place (i forget the name).... i LOVE okonomiyaki, woo woo!
Impatience is not a good thing. I wanted some hot chocolate before leaving lab... and I took the last little bit of the boiled water from the water boiling thing. (no, not a kettle... one of those asian things with the button on top.... we used it to warm up monte's baby formula). But yes. it wasn't enough hot water for my hot chocolate. so i refilled that boiler, but i didn't want to wait for it to boil...so i just filled the rest of my cup with water, then mixed in the cocoa powder... ..... and... not as yummy.
..... not much to write. maybe, MAYBE, i will start going to the alpha course... they have one at the hiroshima union church.. every tuesday at 7pm, starting tomorrow... at the Smith's house... (no idea where that is..hmmm...)... BUT, I'm afraid it's gonna be just me and like, one other person.... sooo we'll see.........
I got a lab coat for FREE! today, because someone from years ago had left his in a locker, and all the lockers today from our floor were being dumped! the collar is lined with this yellow sweat mark though, so i need to wash it before using it.....
oooooooook.
nothing interesting to write. byebye!
